I dont' quite understand what's supposed to happen with Drag mode antilag.. It seems that the EMS interrupts the spark in a set pattern, but to what purpose? What't the theory behind it?

The charge does not get lit off by spark inside the engine because it purposely didnt fire. It blows the charge into the exhaust where temperature lights it off. This expands like crazy (and gets very hot while expanding) and gets the turbo spinning. Kind of like a jet engine sort of thing. Its hard on turbos with excessive heat and can be tough on thrust bearings.

a 2 step rev limiter can get most turbos spinning unless they are very large for the engine they are on. Temps are safer and turbo bearing loads are less too.
