I have recently purchased an 8860 ems ecu, and as past posts would suggest, am having connection problems between ecu to computer. Knowing that a usb converter was in the works i browsed the forums first and found that the iogear converter was mentioned quite a bit. I have since purchased one of these. When running the tuning software there is a green square in the bottom right corner flashing light and dark green, the light on the converter flashes accordingly, this would perhaps suggest the converter is working? I have read the connection problems in the past posts and have tried most of them, but i am still getting the 'no ecu found' message when i try to go online with the ecu.
I would much appreciate someone giving me some idea of approaching this issue, cheers

Each time you select a com port# you need to exit and restart the program. Sometimes on laptops you have to disable the MODEM as they usually use COMM3 and can conflict with software(read my previous threads from upgrade problems). When you have the correct comm port selected, the software will ask if you want to read from the ECU Very Happy

after mucking around with software and settings, found problem 2 b right infront of me. Was brousing the 4460 topics n found a diagram of the cable that goes from the ecu to laptop, did a continuity test of my cable and found it to b wrong. Cut and shut the cable to suit the diagram and as soon as i connected the computers, found it worked right away.
Let the fun begin Smile
